MIDI goes silent after enabling audio

Hi, I am experiencing an issue with the current project I’m working on. The patch uses MIDI chords along with audio samples. The MIDI works just fine when I start the patch, however, it goes completely silent as soon as I turn on the audio (metro object still sends out bangs, but I’m just able to hear the audio sample). I have to restart MAX completely to hear the MIDI again. I’m including a simplified version of the patch which has the same problem.

Also, apologies in advance - I noticed a similar question has already been asked on this forum a while ago, however, I did not manage to solve anything on my own (it has nothing to do with scheduler in overdrive). Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, also, I am running OS Big Sur 11.7.10 if that helps - sorry, should have specified.

you could use apple synth as vst plugin to overcome that problem.

Which would also give you the option to record it's output to audio file if needed .

just prepend midievent in front of raw midi messages.

or use rightmost outle of midiformat.
