Since this morning, I don't have any audio output in Max8. Other audio sources (like YouTube and Ableton Live) work perfectly. I have no clue what the problem is.

No patch - including the helpfiles - has any audio output.

I restarted both my computer and Max several times. I have even deleted and reinstalled Max, without result. Yesterday, everything worked fine.

I have just installed the newest update of macOS (Catalina 10.15.4) this morning. Maybe the problem lies there?

Top left button: if it's orange, you have to click it twice to make it blue, which means Audio on.

It's a known Catalina bug unfortunately :/

I have Big Sur here, but I think it is similar in Catalina:

Apple System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy

Select "Microphone" in the left list and look if the checkbox for Max is activated in the right list. If not, do it.

"Microphone" is a misleading term in this case. They mean audio in general.
