play random parts in an audio
on max project. I have it randomly play between a few sounds but I want it to play from a random part of the sound not just start from the beginning every time
See the selection message in the advanced tab of the Help File. Everytime you generate your random clip you could also randomly generate a starting point (selection start).

Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.
