Random clipping that sometimes happens when beginning to play audio through device
HI everyone,
I've build a gain rider in M4L which basically works as intended, the only problem I can't figure out, is that sometimes when you start playing audio, the device clips. It sort of malfunctions and raises the fader quickly up and clips the audio (even when the dB correction is very low and shouldn't be enough to clip the audio) It doesn't happen all the time, just every noe and then. I'm not sure what causes it and would be grateful for pointers!
The only way I can reproduce it is when I play audio in Ableton, stop it and then after a second or so start it again. That way the Rider Fader sometimes jumps to the very top causing clipping in some cases.
it's probably in the 'p smoothing' subpatcher(sorry i'm too busy to test this thoroughly, but until someone with more time for specificity comes along...)... i'm also not seeing where the 'sel stop' would get any 'stop' message from the objects before the 'p smoothing' subpatcher(?... maybe the 'if' statement above it was meant to output 'stop' instead of '0'?)... anyways, got a feeling the problem is somewhere in that area..
Thank you for your reply Ill have a look there! I just realised it's actually only in the right channel, where it keeps happening
