sampling rate always 32 khz
when I start Max on my new mac studio (Monterey/RME fireface uc) the sampling rate is set to 32000. I can change it to 44100, but after a restart it's 32000 again.
Did you also set the RME driver to 44100? And is your FF UC default interface?
Yes, when I start Max, sometimes it even switches the RME driver to 32k. But not always. And yes, it is the only interface attached and it is chosen in system preferences.
I can switch both manually to 44.1k. But when I restart Max , it’s back on 32k.
It could be that something tells it to switch to 32 k.
I would disable RME for System audio and use it only in max and other pro apps.
Just to make sure no player like itunes or similar messes with it.

On installing the RME driver under Monterey, did you give it permission to change system audio settings?
I unplugged everything and I have the impression that the problem is a logitech webcam (C920). But how??

Looks like you need to use the webcam with its own internal mic, or use different webcam software.
That’s interesting. I never used an external mic work this webcam and I never would. But the software doesn’t work anymore with Monterey and I could not find a new release or update.
Sorry „with“ this webcam.
Are you sure that in 'Audio MIDI Setup' the 920 isn't set as default audio input (=> mic symbol after name)? Or that its SR is set to 32k, and could eventually even be changed to 44.1?
wow, you are right, but I cannot find a way to change it. The help file says there should be a menu to change it. But there isn't. Maybe it's different in Monterey?
The logitech has a max bitrate of 32000, hahaha, stone age....
found it, it's below now, I chose the RME as main device for input and there we are. Thanks for your help :)
