I've been searching for a post about this issue but haven't quite found what I'm looking for, maybe I'm not articulating correctly.

I have a send/receive setup where input from one device, on a MIDI track, is being sent to a second device, on an audio track. Both devices work in unison to match an audio input with corresponding MIDI notes and function just fine as long as both of their patcher windows are open. Is it possible for me to use the send/receive objects in this way without the patchers running?
