I made this little M4L device that lets you change your selected parameters value in Ableton with an encoder. You can also map the parameter to the encoder by a click on a button (or ideally the encoder, if it has a button integrated).

Setup:

  1. MIDI map the dial to an encoder on your midi controller .

  2. Ideally MIDI map the "Edit Mode" button to a button on your midi controller.

Function 1:

  1. Select any parameter.

  2. Turn your knob an change its value.

Function 2:

  1. Select any parameter.

  2. Click on "Edit Mode" to lock the parameter to the encoder.

  3. Turn your knob an change its value.

  4. Click on any other parameter without changing your mapping.

  5. Click on "Parameter Saved" to unlock the parameter.
