Using the shift+n on patch cord to add object between object doesn't work at the moment.

Had the same problem with the previous version of max , download max 8.1.11 and that seemed to fix 

But the problem is back in the latest version

I'm on Mac OSC catalina . 
version : Max 8.1.11

I don’t really want to be the one to ask but… You do have the preference for “enable patching mechanics” on, right?

I had the same issue occur in the last version of max , 

When I first installed 8.1.11 , is what fixed . 

In tons of patching little things like this add up a bit of time but more importantly workflow for ideas.

Now the problem has returned.

While I'm at it, it would be great if we could bypass objects and have them a little greyed out 

the way you can with patch cords and the disable patch cords options

keeping the chain bypassing it quickly , ON and off to compared outputs
