like others, i've been trying to get live 1080p into my computer via jit.grab from some time now.

it seems there is now work in progress at cycling74 to create a functional blackmagic hardware driver, but i also see multiple reports of issues.

i recently stumbled across the magewell line of products, which seem to work with many different programs.

so my question is: has anyone used a magewell, say, XI100DUSB HDMI USB 3.0 Capture Dongle?

and/or is anyone having easy, plug-n-play success with a freestanding (not card) blackmagic product?

as of Max 7.0.4, blackmagic devices are supported natively under both Mac and Windows. of course with any new technology support there are going to be some bugs and glitches, but it is working as expected under both platforms, and will support capture of 1080p, assuming the specific blackmagic device and input device supports that format.
