Vizzie PLAYR vs jit.playlist performance - live video mixing
Hi Guys,
For my first bigger Max patch I tried to build a video mixer that uses two PLAYRs and goes through a bunch of vizzie effects. However, I wanted to send a bang into its "scrub" inlet, to have rhytmic playback with metro. Doing this I discovered that both PLAYRs are triggered at the same time (all PLAYRs react the same all over the Max when any one is pinged - they all go to the cuepoint).
To achieve rhytmic playback I switched to jit.playlist, but it performs much slower and I cannot get anywhere near 30 FPS, despite the fact that everything worked smoothly with PLAYRs. I use output_texture 1 to alleviate that, but still the difference in speed is staggering.
Is there anyone who could help me to alleviate either of these problems? E.g. banging each PLAYR instance individually or work around performance issues.
I would love to attach the patch, but it exceeds the 5MB limit
Perhaps you might consider creating a stripped-down version of your patch if - for some reason - the result of a "Copy Compressed" action is still over 5MB (you are doing the copy with no movies loaded, right?)
Alternately, you could put a copy of the Copy Compressed up on Dropbox or WeTransfer and contact Customer Support. I'll make it a point to keep an eye out for it.
Hi,
I probably should look up some forum rules first, sorry. Copy Compressed seems to do the work though, thanks a lot!
Right now it is is "usable" state, e.g. no performance issues, with PLAYRs used, but without setting the cuepoints. On the bottom there is a jit.playlist solution.
