VST~ slows UI when created after device load
Hellooo,
When I have a max for live device that contains a vst~ object, I can send the device MIDI and CCs with no issue, but when I make it so that the device instead loads the vst~ using javascript (after the max for live device is loaded) then sending CCs or fast amounts of MIDI causes the visuals of Ableton Live to slow down to about 5fps. Does anyone know what's causing this, and there's a way fix?
Cheers, Harry
It is evident that this is a bug in the vst~ object in the new version of Max. When transmitting MIDI data such as CC to the vst~ object (with the plugin already loaded), it consumes a significant amount of CPU resources. This error does not occur in MAX 8.5.8 (bundled with the latest version of Ableton Live Suite 11) or earlier versions. I have already reported this bug but have not received any response.
