In the past, I used to be able to create a wireless network on my macbook pro and have my iPad connect to it and Mira would find that network as well and life was wine and roses.

Since then, I have preferred to use the usb connection. So I have been using this for some years. But now, when I try to return to my old ways, Mira doesn’t seem to recognise the ad-hoc wifi. The iPad does.

Hello Braintrust -- I keep getting this error popping up in my console when I'm running a patch with Mira in it:

xebra_global: XEBListeningConnection_ListenProc: Error accepting connection: 670008 nodename nor servname provided, or not known

The connection appears to work fine, but the error pops up every several seconds, so it interferes with using my console to track output while I'm problem solving the patch. I am running the latest versions of Max and Mira on OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 (it's a 2010 iMac, so I'm kind of done upgrading the OS) and iOS 9.3.5 on an iPad3.

Can anyone direct me what to do to fix this error?

MIRA for me as an av performer and PhD researcher, has been one of THE most helpful and liberating software devs in MAX  - because it allows us to move from numbers to gesture!

I'm getting my hands on MIRA and I stumbled upon a weird behaviour.

I have the attached patch, with a single button in my MIRA UI, and a [pattr] object bound to this button.

If MIRA and max are in the same mode (either both in patcher mode, or both in presentation mode with the MIRA window added to the presentation), pressing the button on the remote UI sends a 1. followed by a 0. as intended.

However, if the MIRA window isn't included in the presentation and that the Max window is in presentation mode, pressing the remote UI button will make it fire a 1. and remain stucked here: it will not fire a 0. and pressing it again will have no effect.

I don't know if that's intented to work that way, but it's kind of a bummer in situations where the PC UI is different from the remote UI (I might not want to include the remote UI in the main presentation window).

When i move my fingers off the edges of the screen, mira.multitouch keeps the removed finger as an active circle on the border (move state = 2). So the count of fingers increases as soon as i put my finger back on the screen again – increasing the fingercount steadily until it reaches the maximum of 12.

There is no reset / clear message for the mira.multitouch, so i can only delete the entire mira.multitouch object at this point and make a new one, which makes it unusable :/ 

- I'm using the miraweb version on chrome

- using an android smartphone as multitouch input

- always occours, independently of the mira.multitouch size to the mira.frame or the mira.multitouch distance to the physical boarder of the phone

Hey, same problem here, but it happens on IOS, both on iPhone and iPad using miraWeb. I do have the MIRA app on my iPad (I am using miraWeb for my students) and there the problem does not happen. So I guess it has to do with the browser 

Hi Flo B and Stefano, thank you, I can reproduce this on mobile chrome and will get this ticketed with engineering — interestingly, I see this behavior specifically on chrome. If I view the same miraweb frame using safari, it works as I'd expect.

there seems to be a problem also with the mt.rotate, there is no output for radians and the angular velocity has very low and jittery values. I am always speaking about mira web, all is fine when using the app. Problem seems to be the same with safari, chrome and firefox


Hi Stefano, thank you for following up here. I've bumped the fingercount issue for engineering, and made a new ticket to track the [mira.mt.rotate] issue, which I can reproduce.  

Hey, same issue here, except on iOS, affecting miraWeb-enabled iPhone and iPad. On my iPad, when I use MiraWeb for my students, the MIRA software, the issue does not occur. So I suppose the browser is to blame. 

I do not think it is connected explicit with the edges only. There is an old bug still open [1], regarding retaining past touches with [mira.multitouch] in general. Unfortunately. It makes it unusable to me without an Apple touch computer. 
Any chance for improvements? 
It is known and open on github, so I guess there is no point in reporting as a bug directly to Cycling74?
