I'm using MIRA to control various Max for Live patches.

For the project I'm working on now I would need Mira in "Portrait" mode but when I select it the MIRA app says "Orientation missmatch".

The MIRA app UI/menus do not rotate either with the iPad.

I have an iPad 2 (last OS) and am working with the latest version of Max for Live.

Same issue here. Can't get Mira app to recognize Portrait mode. :(

Using Max 7.3.4 (plain Max, not Max for Live in this case). 

Mira app (latest version, 1.2.2) on iPad Pro with iOS 11.2

You might want to try MiraWeb, I have found it to be less buggy and you can simply turn the iPad to switch to portrait. 

Sadly support of multitouch is not as good in MiraWeb as in Mira. Try to move both ends of a rslider for instance, it works flawlessly in Mira, but not at all in MiraWeb (tried on the same iPad with Safari and Chrome).


I use Max 8.1.5 with Mira 1.2.2 on 10.15.3 and have the same problem of orientation mismatching.

MIRA crashes consistenly on patcher close

In the past, I used to be able to create a wireless network on my macbook pro and have my iPad connect to it and Mira would find that network as well and life was wine and roses.

Since then, I have preferred to use the usb connection. So I have been using this for some years. But now, when I try to return to my old ways, Mira doesn’t seem to recognise the ad-hoc wifi. The iPad does.

Hello Braintrust -- I keep getting this error popping up in my console when I'm running a patch with Mira in it:

xebra_global: XEBListeningConnection_ListenProc: Error accepting connection: 670008 nodename nor servname provided, or not known

The connection appears to work fine, but the error pops up every several seconds, so it interferes with using my console to track output while I'm problem solving the patch. I am running the latest versions of Max and Mira on OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 (it's a 2010 iMac, so I'm kind of done upgrading the OS) and iOS 9.3.5 on an iPad3.

Can anyone direct me what to do to fix this error?

I have the same issue with Max 7.3.4 on my mid-2015 MBP, El Capitain, with iOS 11.1.2 on an iPad Air 2, running MIRA 1.2.1 - it's probably trivial, but it would be good to know...

Also they appears after deleting the mira patch inside.


MIRA for me as an av performer and PhD researcher, has been one of THE most helpful and liberating software devs in MAX  - because it allows us to move from numbers to gesture!
