I really like the random steps implementation for the live.grid but I would like to add functionality to set some steps to be fixed while the rest are randomised. Is there any way I can do this using the random message? If not I would really appreciate some pointers on how best to implement this another way. Included the patch for reference. Thanks :)

I'm trying to figure out how to loop a sequence of samples (Round Robin) playing a single MIDI drum pad repeatedly.

I also need to be able to reset the sequence via another Drum Pad (MIDI mapped) so next time I hit the other pad the sequence starts on the first sample again.

So far, I found 3 different methods of achieving that effect (almost) in Ableton:

Problem: none of these methods allow to reset the sequence via MIDI mapping.

Unfortunately I don't know Max4Live, to fix this myself.

Maybe  someone here  can help me achieve the desired effect :)

I'm working on a project where the goal is to use the faders on my 

 keyboard to control an external mixer with MIDI control change messages, routed through Ableton Live. 

The idea is to retain all the functionality the keyboard has to control Live through its control surface, except for the faders. By default, the faders control the channel volumes of the Live mixer, I want them to control the external mixer instead.

, I mean it works when the Max  editor window is open, but not when I'm using my M4L device in Live, with Max closed.

class only works when the Max editor is open.

When the editor is open and I move the first fader (

), the first fader in the  little UI I've made on my M4L device (

) is moving along with it and sending MIDI CC messages to the MIDI output port to the external mixer. 

When I close the editor, it stops working.

I'm completely new to "Max for Live", and I would like to create a device that takes MIDI note data and maps it to knob parameters. So, C-2 would correspond to 0 and G8 would correspond to 127 on the parameter you want to map it to.

But it doesn't seem to work on my Ableton 12. Do you know why? When I click on "map", nothing happens; it's impossible to map a parameter!

Hi. I have  inputed keys/values for the following 3 table ranges- Table fifths size 2 range 8, Table minor size 3 range 8, and table major size 3 range 8. I'm working on the live.object. Among the messages for this object is get.
I would like to know if the get in put_routing_channel message could display in the output of the live.object, 
the name of the entry selected at the Track Input Type level of Ableton Live (for exemple Computer Keyboard).
Apparently, you need to create a dictionary.
Pairs of symbols should be noted. The “display.name” and the “identify”.
My question is: 
how should we note these symbols in the dictionary.

I'm feeling stumped on how to approach this and was hoping that someone could please help me with this problem. 

I have a dynamic list as per example below:

The numbers should be read in pairs, where the first number in the pair represents the index and the second number represents the stored value. 

I would like to recall the stored values  using an index input so that:

maybe I simply don't understand the puprpose or the usage of the new live.routing object.  When I add the Live Routing Audio In example to my patch, the selected port/channel will always be added into plugin audio channels 1 and 2 - in these channels the normal audio from that track is already present, so the signals just mix up.

I would like to route the selected audio input to plugin channels 3 and 4, so I could sidechain it. Is it somehow pssible? (Like the argument 2 of the BrowseRouting Utility)

o attach a 9 min video that is split into 5 parts (due to large file size upload) detailing what is required for my assessment this Friday. Would anybody be kind enough to upload or show a patch that contains what the assessment shows? Just like how the series of notes are played by rate and delay (upon pressing down one note I believe) in the videos while making use of these below additional features?:

Legato/Staccato: where the durations of the notes can be controlled independently from the 'Rate' function (so, you can have a slow rate with short, crisp durations or durations that are the same length as that defined by 'Rate)

• Chord: the ability to change chords, i.e. the collection of notes that forms the arpeggio

• Range: the range within which the arpeggio occurs relative to the played note

Whether it is a new patch or a modified one of my current attached patch is fine. Right now I think what is lacking is the octave variation and absence of extra features which I do not know how to do so.  I just need to get this done by Friday and I am currently panicking so help would really be appreciated.
