controlling lasers via Helios DAC?

Hey forum,

I lately came across Maxwells laser synth. It looks very impressive.

Probably like many, I am most interested in the communication with the laser interfaces it self. It seems like it supports many different formats and interfaces.
I was wondering what jit.maxwell actually does?
Can I understand it as the bottom right section on the UI, transforming open gl into the format different laser and interfaces can understands?

I also read there is no direct audio-in option or input for external sources, correct?

Why I am asking is, I am using an Helios DAC and it seems there is no way to directly talk to the interface within max. At the moment I´m sending my 5 chan audio to Touchdesigner to translate it for helios as there is an object for it. It works but is a weird work around.

The source code for Helios is actually open and is provided in C++ and python. Unfortunately its beyond my skills to write a max obj for that at the moment.
Has something like this been done by anybody so far? or for etherdream? Any inputs for that?

Best

Hi Jakob!
I succeeded to use jit.maxwell in max. Of course, I have bought Maxwell first.
Basically, I’m using Helios dac interface USB to ILDA.

Hey Gheorghe,
thx for you answer.
so buying maxwell includes the object [jit.maxwell] itself too?
is there any documantation about it?

but open gl only? no audio to helios right?
no "external in" within maxwell?

Hi Georghe.

When I try to use the jit.maxwell object, I get this error:

Error 126 loading external jit.maxwell

Kind Regards
