Video Routing for Webcam Broadcast
I'm new to working directly with Jitter but have been working on and off with Max since Max5. What I want to do it route webcam footage through Jitter and then out via zoom, teams, hangouts, etc. For audio I feel like loopback or soundflower would work for what I wanted.
Any help, advice or ideas is welcome I'm obviously thinking through ideas related to our current pandemic state.
All the best,
You can use Syphon to output your video as a texture and grab it in OBS using the "Syphon client" source in OBS. You can also get your audio into OBS using Soundflower or https://github.com/ExistentialAudio/BlackHole (the still ongoing alternative to Soundflower).
You can then use a virtual camera plugin for OBS to let other softwares such as Zoom or Hangout recognize the OBS output as a camera device. For Windows, you can usethe OBS VirtualCam plugin.Fortunately a macOS version of the plugin is in dev since a few days.
Excellent,
Syphon seemed to be the direction I needed but was unsure of how the chain would work. I'll get started with that and OBS and see what mistakes I make. Thanks
for webcam clients on Mac you can use Camtwist instead of OBS. works similarly with Syphon inputs.

Perfect,
Thank you, that's what I needed. I've already been able to get syphon up and working and removed the mac quarantine (ironic?) on it.
Thank you everyone.
