I am working on a Jitter MOP c-external with two inputs and two outputs:

As far as i understand, this would be the usual way to access the different input and output matrices:

In this case it seems, that every output matrix has the same properties than the leftmost input matrix. 

But I would need to define different types, planecounts, dim sizes for each input and output matrix like these ones inside the matrix_calc function:

The memory allocation, adding Values and sorting the list seems to work but at the end of the matrix_calc function i want to free the memory with the object_free function. When i call the object_free function with the t_linklist i got following error messages:

I still did not get an answer to my question so i try to edit my original post for better understanding and reproducing my Problem to hopefully some hints to my issue:

I am writing an jitter external for Max 9.0.8 with max-sdk-8.2.0:

Inside the external i am filling a 2x2x3 matrix and storing the matrix to brightnessTest.jxf in the Filesystem. After reading back into a matrix object i want to get the stored Values back in a jitter Patch.

But when i try to read back the matrix values in the patch

it seems that only the first frame (frames 0) was read back correctly. At the second frame (frames 1) i only get 0. Values and the third frame (frames 2) i get no Values.

Hope anyone could give me a hint to solve my problem.

I'm working on writing an external that sends max audio signal over the internet, via UDP, directly from Max/MSP. I'm using Libuv for asynchronous I/O in an effort to reduce latency.

My question is this: how can I copy the entire signal vector at once, into a buffer that I can then send. I've reviewed the original Olaf Matthes netsend~ code and then the same netsend~ as updated by Remu and Oliver Guillerminet, and they use the old style performance methods where t_signal **sp is passed to the method and then the signal vector can be grabbed from sp->s_vec.

The new dsp64 process uses double, I know. And I _believe_ that it is a double pointer to another pointer that is an array of the samples, but without access to the code that passes variables into that routine, I'm fumbling around, not really knowing what's going on "under the hood". Does anybody have any insight into how to do this?

At this point, my best guess would be to hop into the perform64 method, and do something to the effect of:

memcpy(my_vector, inL , sizeof(maxvectorsize))???

Thoughts? Ideas? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

* As an aside: I know that audio over internet can be done using TCP via jit.catch and then jit.net.send. Though, my goal is to see what would happen if i were to forgo quality as a means of minimizing latency. The C74 post describing the above mentioned process mentions not seeing any performance gains using UDP (wouldn't it be sooooo nice if they would release that code anyway?), but I'm wondering if there's a point, with super small vector sizes, that serious, synchronized live performance could be had, even if some packets are lost in transport.

I am trying to write an jitter external for Max 9 with Max 8.2 SDK. I have the problem that Max does crash when i use my external in a patch and i do not really know why? 

So is there a way to debug the external? 

Or is it possible to write some information from the jitter object or wrapper to the max console with a print method or something similar?

Or are there any log files where i can find some information about the reason for crashing max?

To brush up a bit my C++ knowledge and out of curiosity I started to dip my toes into the Min-Devkit.

As a starting project I chose to work on a new implementation of an object to connect to the ENTTEC DMX USB Pro, because it has a simple serial API and offers some interesting possibilities like multithreading, concurrency etc. One object I am working on is called [jam.dmxusbpro].

As part of the project I want to allow only one instance of  [jam.dmxusbpro] to be able to open a serial port to an  ENTTEC DMX USB Pro. 

The way implemented this is by creating a separate device manager class - a singleton - that tracks which devices are opened by which instance of  [jam.dmxusbpro] . That works fine between objects off the same class.

As a second step I am creating another object, called  [jam.dmxusbpro~] that allows to control DMX channels with MSP signals.

However, my approach of using a singleton device manager class only works within instances of the same Max object not between  [jam.dmxusbpro] and   [jam.dmxusbpro~].

Is there a way to share data between different Max objects using the Min-DevKit?

PS: I am working on MacOS and am using the POSIX termios API to open the serial ports.

PPS: Min-DevKit is a great addition!! It got me started very fast and is easily accessible for me who's working more in other languages and has a quite basic experience with C and C++.
