I have a problem. In an Ableton Live set I am working on I did at some point make a max for live patch with ; max maxwindow in it to open the console window to check a few things while i was working.

This worked great, but I am done with the console window now, but even if I close it everytime something is printet to the max window (like a number being out of range, or udpreceive is binding to port etc.) the window pops up again! In the middle of the screen. Close it, same thing happens every message. I am not triggering any ;max maxwindow messages, and if i open the patches in another liveset I don't have the problem.

Is there a way to deactivate the max window again in this liveset?

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read.

I am working on a device that adds an audio clip to the currently selected track at the transport position in Live.

When I attempt to call the "create_audio_clip" function, I get an error like such :

live.object: Please provide an absolute path: 'create_audio_clip Macintosh HD:/Users/joewalsh/Desktop/ABSCasing_f_1.wav 10680.0'

I'm currently using a .wav file on the desktop for testing, but have tried other file locations as well with no luck so far.

Any help and/or advice you can offer me would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

UPDATE:  I found out that by adding /Volumes to the beginning of the file path, it now works properly.

I'm working on a patch that revolves around Ableton's Wavetable device, and need a way to set the modulation matrix programmatically using the js object. From the 

Live Object Model docs for WavetableDevice

, I've discovered some functions attached to the device. I've had no issues setting parameters (using 

) or setting the properties attached to the WavetableDevice.

My issue is that I can't figure out the syntax that the add_parameter_to_modulation_matrix function is expecting. The docs describe Parameter: 

 [DeviceParameter], but I am receiving syntax errors.

I've tried passing the following as arguments:

- Live object_id for the parameter to be added

api.call("is_parameter_modulatable", "parameters " + filterFreqParamId)
or
api.call("is_parameter_modulatable", filterFreqParamId)

- param_index on the device (eg. 26 for Filter Freq 1)

api.call("is_parameter_modulatable", "parameters " + filterFreqParamIndex)

api.call("is_parameter_modulatable", filterFreqParamIndex)

- passing the object as a new LiveAPI instance

I am trying to make a patch in Max for Live using hand and finger position as input.  

I often have trouble working with external files/scripts/libraries in Max for Live, and this project is no different.

 handpose library's install script never completes running.  Maybe I need to install dependencies manually via node's cli?

But first another option.  I tried to adapt handpose.maxpat from 

, jit.web should render an .html file located in the same directory as the patch.  But instead it displays a blank white screen.

Is Max for Live limited in its capacity to work with external files?

Are there specific directories -- say inside Ableton's User Library -- that Max for Live devices MUST be saved in to function reliably?

Any insight would be appreciated.  Cheers

I'm aware that there's a LiveAPI-Interactive tool that lets you look this up, but is there a way to put this into a M4L patch? 

2)  use that to identify the clip_slot it resides in

3) use the live.observer to check whether the clip in that slot is triggered (and if so, perform other functions)

I'm constantly adding, deleting and moving scenes, so using clip_slots alone isn't helpful.

Turns out Windows snuck an update on me adding  Ableton and Max into powersave app profiles in windows power control, causing them to use the embedded graphics card and not my powerful one, so all of my projects were slowing based on visual elements, causing various other bugs.
