tl;dr: I have a jweb object in my patcher with a custom UI implemented as a webpage, but it's unusable since keypresses get passed through to Live, so for instance if you hit spacebar, it does input a spacebar in the jweb page's textarea, but it also sends play/pause through to Live.

Is there a setting or a workaround to make this work?

Interestingly, if you set jweb render mode to "onscreen", every single keypress is passed to both the patcher and Live (i.e. pressing "a" inputs an "a" in the jweb page but also toggles Automation Mode in Live), but if you set jweb render mode to "offscreen", most keypresses are 

 passed through to Live, but spacebar is. In all cases, command shortcuts are intercepted and don't work in the jweb page (i.e. you can't press cmd+c to copy in the jweb page, nothing happens).

I've tried using JS to capture keypress events and do preventDefault and stopPropagation, but that doesn't help.

This happens in patcher popouts too, and I've tried various window flags like float, but it doesn't help.

If you open the patcher in the Max editor, it works as expected: jweb captures all keypresses and shortcuts and they're not passed through to Live.

Textedit objects of course work as expected.

This problem only happens on Mac, works fine on Windows.

I'm trying to get embed a [live.adsr~] into an [mc.poly~] so that i can quickly use the live.adsr/ui objects in MC land... but I'm running up against a bit of a wall...

Mainly, I don't understand why the first example is working and the second one isn't.

One updates the [live.adsr~] globally with a [setvalue 0] message, the other tries to update it on a per voice basis.

So I have MAX currently running on a single board computer called the MinnowBoard and I was wondering if I can get MAX to interact somehow with the GPIO pins on the board because I am trying output numbers and letters to a display for editing effects (i.e. depth, bpm, attack, release, etc. etc.) and input using physical knobs. I know you can interact with Arduino GPIO's but that's a separate thing (and I've only done that once through a basic tutorial.) If I can't get it to interact with MAX itself then I will have to get MAX to output some sort of information to Visual Studio which is currently the only other way I know how to interact with the pins. Problem is, I only know of one type of data that MAX can output, and thats midi. I'm sure there is more but I just don't know. Sorry I'm kind of a noob. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Dante Via seems to be limited to 16 channels, but it works (very) fine.

Dante Virtual Soundcard seems to be ok for up to 64.

We tried this one (trial version) but it seems we miss something.

Do we need more than Dante Virtual Soundcard to stream 32 channels between our two computers ?

Of course, there are Jack Audio for networking too etc. But I already rely on Dante and it is very solid so, it was my first bet.

Dante Virtual Soundcard doesn't provide a master clock (or to use the new, inclusive, terminology, a leader clock), it won't work without some Dante hardware device on the network set as master.
AFAIK, Via is limited to 16 channels, and works only at 48kHz. But it does work without a hardware clock.

as you know, we constantly stream 64 channels of audio and Dante Virtual Soundcard has always been working very reliably for us. The only limitation being that you need a Dante hardware clock acting as a master on the network.

Are there any MAX objects or patches available for interfacing with implementations of MIDI 2.0 capabilities? I'm thinking of things like a simple property browser object that could be used to validate (or at least debug) an attempt to implement a 2.0 compliant endpoint device.

I have a Mac standalone made with Max 8.2.0 which uses an audio input (actually from loopback) and an external USB camera (to trigger things).

It's working fine. But as it needs to run for a long time (months) in an installation, I would like to launch it automatically when the computer starts up (as a Login item). This works, but during the startup process, dialog boxes appear asking for permission for "... MSP to capture audio from the microphone." and to "Allow Jitter to capture video". Which need to be clicked on.

I thought that the computer (mac mini running 10.13.4) would learn that it's ok for the app to do this (it appears in and stays in the relevant lists in the Security control panel). but these dialogs appear EVERY TIME.

Launching the standalone app on my laptop (OS 12.1) displays the same behaviour, so I don't think it's just an OS thing.

I've done this kind of thing before and can't remember ever having this problem.
