Recording video stream with spout in max4live...very desperate, very disappointed
Hello
I have been trying for hours to get this work.
Installed obs splitcam spoutrecorder plugins spout etc. None of these will capture the spout window, either with splitcam and obs (with spout plugin) the spout screen stays black. It is recognized but still stays black.
Seems very poor that such a basic action, like saving the stream output in max4live takes so much effort and it´s starting to disappoint me heavily. the spoutrecorder sometimes shows a resolution of 640 480, then 240 240, and once the exact resolution 1920 1080...but it seems to change occasionally)
As well, sometimes I am getting the error message in Live :
"Cannot create DirectX/OpenGL interop"
Can anybody give me a hint on how to solve this?
Thanks in advance!!!!
you are not required to use any other tools to capture video output from Max, jit.record /jit.vcr (or the vizzie AV/RECORDR module) is all you need. however you are likely to get better results using piping your textures over to dedicated software. Check the best practices article for more info.
if you'd like me to take a look, post your device, or send to me privately (email in sig)
one thing that comes to mind, if you're on a laptop with dual GPUs make sure all apps are using the high performance GPU - https://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/force-app-to-use-dedicated-gpu-windows/
hi Fab Max, I realized this process is tricky so went ahead and made a video outlining the steps, and posted it here - https://cycling74.com/forums/record-jitter-in-a-mfl-device-with-obs-via-spout
Hi Rob, first of all thanks a lot for the support and the tutorial. Now I finally managed to send the spoutsend to obs. That s great!
Now another problem occurs. When opening obs, ableton gets almost completely unresponsive, it takes a few seconds still any knob responds, so iI can t use any dials on my max4live instrument.
Do you have an idea what osis causing this (running an i7 with 32gb on an ssd)
Thanks in advance
Fab
