Hello! I need help naming the context for jit.gl objects. I am working in a patch that have a source movie playing from a jit.gl.movie and going through some jit.fx and finally reaching a jit.gl.videoplane that fix that video to a specific layer. Then there is, on one side, a jit.gl.text that I move with mouse clicks with a jit.gl.handle, and on the other an fpic , both of them in different layers. I read in the max documentation that when working with jit.world the context should be name, so I name the jit.world as vworld and type that name into every jit.gl object there is in the patch, and now nothing is being displayed.

I am not sure I understand how to name the context correctly. For example, if I read a video with a jit.gl.movie and that video get resize with jit.gl.texture, goes through some effects and then ends in a jit.gl.videoplane to be position in a specific layer, should I only name the last jit.gl.videoplane with the context name? or every jit.gl along the way? I tried both and it doesn´t work either way.

I made a live.text button and insert on it a svg picture, and it works well, so I decided to copy-paste this button to trigger other objects, but it stop working. It have a lighter color than the original one, but every aspect in the inspector seems to be the same as the original. What am I missing?

I have a jitter patch with webcam input and output to two windows. Inside the patch i want to switch the visibility of two jit.gl.videoplanes through the @layer attribute. 

In my first window "windowLeft" it works fine, but at the second window "windowRight" switching between the videoplanes does not work. Maybe i am missing an some attribute?

I am sending text with textedit to jit.gl.text to be display on top of movie clips. I would like to be able to write text in different lines, and so far I can only write in one single line. I looked into the the textedit inspector and there is a maximum lines option, but can´t figure out how to enter text and hit enter and continue typing text. There is also a Separator option but I choosed a symbol thinking that it would be understood as a line separator but it seems it doesn't work that way. Probably is something very easy to do, but can´t figure it out.

I am using a live.num object ranging from -200. to 200. and when I select the object and goes  one time up with the arrow keys, automatically jump from 0 to 8.36. Is it possible that goes up or down one by one? I tried also scrolling with the mouse on the last decimal and the result is the same. The object setting is a float number.

Similar to a previous thread: I was unable to do RNBO work because max suddenly refused to edit, create or open RNBO.

The console error was "Could not connect to RNBO buildserver" and several other errors including "Unable to get gRPC URI and WebSocket port from codegen server". After a day of frustration investigating network, firewalls, packet captures etc, I tried repair and reinstall, which didn't fix the issue. 

Then I deleted (Username)/AppData/Roaming/Cycling '74

This fixed the problem (so far!).  As detailed earlier by NUMB_CHANNELS in the thread

I hadn't had any crashes or issues or software updates, so I don't know how anything got corrupted in the Cycling '74 files. 

I hope this will help others who run into the issue.

I need to delete part of the path I am getting into my patch in order for the jit.gl.movie I am using, can read the file. I am using regexp object to do it but still leave part of the path I need to substitute. What am I doing wrong?

I've been working on a set of Max for Live devices that rely heavily on JavaScript. Recently, I've been having some issues where the adding the devices to an empty Live set will instantly crash Live. Sometimes, Live will display an error that says "A serious program error has occurred. Live will shut down after this message box is closed." In other cases, Live just abruptly quits.

After doing some bisection testing, I found that the crashes were specifically being triggered by jit.gl.texture objects receiving bangs on load. Opening the Ableton crash dumps in WinDbg revealed that the last instruction preceding the crash was always jitlib!jit_handle_size_set . This led me on a bit of a wild goose chase trying to figure out if the issue had to do with initialization order, GL context creation, etc.

I noticed the problem would persist for a while, including across rebooting my computer, and then it would seemingly "fix itself," which led me to suspect that it was being caused by a file somewhere on disk rather than anything stored in memory.

I thought that the issue was perhaps being caused by the Max's database files for Live (at AppData\Roaming\Cycling '74\Max 8\Database or AppData\Roaming\Cycling '74\Max 9\Database, depending on your Max version). Deleting the files in these folders seemed to fix the issue, but now it's cropped up again. I initially posted this when I thought I had a working solution in case it was helpful to anyone else, but now I think I'm just going to submit a bug report to C74 support.

jit.gl.texture receiving bangs causes crashes in Max for Live

In  my AudioTest.maxpat patch i want start a sound sample (sound001.wav in ResistorNoise.maxpat subpatch) randomly a short while after each other.

Because of the reason that each started sound can be oveclapped by another sound i use the poly~ object. Inside the poly patch NoisePoly.maxpat object I have used the line~ object to avoid clipping noise while playback the sample(s). But when i start the Patch there is still some clipping noise hearable.

Maybe someone can give me a hint how to avoid these clipping noise..
