I have several versions of projects and patchers that are showing up in the 'open recent...' menus, and for productivity's sake I want to clear/erase this menu, but there doesn't seem to be a solution.

Max starts very slow on Windows 10 and 11. I try different machines, decent hardware e.g. AMD 5700U, 16 GB RAM. fast NVMe SSD. Other software behaves generally as expected. Disabling the "Virus &Threat Protection" did not help. I see nothing special in the processes, no excessive load on CPU. It takes minimum 35 seconds to start. It is empty Max of course, no patches loaded. Plugins scanning preferences set to "minimal/fast". I do not know what else I could optimize. Anybody else with that problem?

PS. On my MB Air M1 with only 8 GB RAM it is almost instantly up and ready (<1 s).

The [loudness~] object increases the RAM used over time on Windows.

Setup a [loudness~ @interval 50] object and run an audio file through it. For more more obvious results, copy 10 versions of the loudness object and have it report into the [live.numbox] with the LUFS units like shown in the maxhelp patch.

Over time, there should not be unlimited increasing RAM use.

Over time, the memory used by Max on Windows increases until audio processing starts to get garbled/glitchy.

Depending on the requirement, [average~] in RMS mode, or maybe [M4L.envfol~] for envelope following for workarounds.

I'm experiencing an apparent bug with jit.cellblock.  Please see attached code.

I'm attempting to have a primary jit.cellblock control a hidden, secondary jit.cellblock.  However, when initially opening the patch, the hidden/secondary jit.cellblock does not respond to the sync commands of the primary jit.cellblock.  Once you unlock and relock the patch, the secondary/hidden jit.cellblock begins responding.  The same behavior happens when the secondary jit.cellblock is in a subpatcher (included in example patch here).

To duplicate the behavior, open this patch, save it, close it, and do a fresh open. Before doing anything else, begin clicking around in the primary/visible jit.cellblock.  Notice the sync commands being correctly generated out of the third outlet.  After a few clicks, unlock the patch to see the hidden/secondary jit.cellblock, the selected cell will still be stuck at 0, 0.  Then lock the patch, click around some more in the primary jit.cellblock, unlock the patch, and verify that the hidden, secondary jit.cellblock has begun responding to the sync commands from the primary.  To duplicate again, you will need to close and re-open the patch  each time.  The same thing happens when the secondary jit.cellblock is in a subpatcher.  Am I missing a special something?  Do I need to be in a specific "mode"? Any thoughts on a work around?

The live.scope object set to update interval 0.01 is causing an extremely sloppy audio timing despite the settings seen in the screenshots below. 

In order to get the timing correct, I need to set my Signal Vector Size to 1 sample. Nothing else will cut it on the audio settings side.

To fix it on the live.scope side instead, set its interval to values 1 and larger.

Not sure if this is a bug per se, but it sure is able to mess with the users and cause some painful debugging moments in complex patches.

Hello, want to ask everybody here and anywhere else, what is your experience with offline audio rendering?

 = my experience keeps me to create systems in Max, save them as 

 independently for different cases. And render Max stuff in Ableton. It works great. But want to know how to fast stable rendering inside Max only.

Basically, now I'm actively learn this platform for personal, artistic and commercial purposes and like this. Great stuff for synthesis, creation of instruments/M4L and whole systems, visuals and live coding/algorave. Pd for me is clunky and less stable fork of Max with more bugs and less support. SuperCollider is too much for me. TidalCycles for sequencing... Well, i prefer node-based system more, Max for me is like Factorio with cold-tech vibe. Texts are boring.

So, my question is, how to do effective fast offline rendering within Max or it is impossible because of disability of decent stable fast event-rate in large Signal Vector Sizes? And do you usually render your stuff in real-time or offline?

I'm trying to input London weather data into max msp however I'm really stuck on how to do this - I keep getting error messages. I have followed other peoples methods from previous forums and I'm using OpenWeatherMap to source the information. I basically just want numbers that correspond to the weather e.g temp rain wind etc so that I can the use those for effects. I've attached a patch and would be really grateful if someone was to look and suggest where I'm going wrong - maybe you know of a better source for the weather?
