mc.adsr~ can be triggered by mc.what using @triggermode 1 but there is apparently no equivalent to trigger mc.live.adsr~ if you want to use live.adsrui

Max starts very slow on Windows 10 and 11. I try different machines, decent hardware e.g. AMD 5700U, 16 GB RAM. fast NVMe SSD. Other software behaves generally as expected. Disabling the "Virus &Threat Protection" did not help. I see nothing special in the processes, no excessive load on CPU. It takes minimum 35 seconds to start. It is empty Max of course, no patches loaded. Plugins scanning preferences set to "minimal/fast". I do not know what else I could optimize. Anybody else with that problem?

PS. On my MB Air M1 with only 8 GB RAM it is almost instantly up and ready (<1 s).

The suckah object is not working properly anymore, in the help patch of suckah.maxhelp I don't get the correct values. Also the suckah object in the jit.chromakey helpfile doesn't work anymore. 

I get only values like 1. 1. 1. and in between it gives a jittering  value of RGBA: 0.258824 0.258824 0.258824 when it should be full green, red or blue values.

Can someone confirm this behaviour or is it my computer?

tl;dr: I have a jweb object in my patcher with a custom UI implemented as a webpage, but it's unusable since keypresses get passed through to Live, so for instance if you hit spacebar, it does input a spacebar in the jweb page's textarea, but it also sends play/pause through to Live.

Is there a setting or a workaround to make this work?

Interestingly, if you set jweb render mode to "onscreen", every single keypress is passed to both the patcher and Live (i.e. pressing "a" inputs an "a" in the jweb page but also toggles Automation Mode in Live), but if you set jweb render mode to "offscreen", most keypresses are 

 passed through to Live, but spacebar is. In all cases, command shortcuts are intercepted and don't work in the jweb page (i.e. you can't press cmd+c to copy in the jweb page, nothing happens).

I've tried using JS to capture keypress events and do preventDefault and stopPropagation, but that doesn't help.

This happens in patcher popouts too, and I've tried various window flags like float, but it doesn't help.

If you open the patcher in the Max editor, it works as expected: jweb captures all keypresses and shortcuts and they're not passed through to Live.

Textedit objects of course work as expected.

This problem only happens on Mac, works fine on Windows.

After using Max for over 10 years, I'm writing in the forum for the first time, because I have a big error.

For my long-term project - a MIDI looper - I bought a new device. The Yamaha Finger Drum Pad FGDP-50 which I really enjoy.

Here is my problem: The „midiin“ object swallows notes that were definitely sent. Sometimes a NOTE ON is missing and sometimes a NOTE OFF. This doesn't happen in the MIDI Monitor app or in Ableton live. No data is missing there! So the device ist working correctly but Max/Msp makes troubles. The same mistake happens with xmidiin, notein, xnotein. I never had a problem with other midi master keyboards.

I've tried a lot of things. I've tried it with the latest Max version and with a older Version. I've tried it with and without overdrive. I am working on a mac.

Could this be a „midiin“ bug? Is there another midi in object? Is there a workaround without „midiin“?

I was about to write about some very strange behavior of deltaclip~ , when I saw this thread:

This post is almost 10 years old (!) so I guess it is not a bug... but I still don't understand it. Try opening the deltaclip~ help patcher. Start DSP, click on the toggle. The signal slopes to 1. Then try to decrease the value in the float box over middle inlet.

1) The signal value drops unexpectecly: why?

Then, try increasing the value in the second float box, over the third inlet of the object.

Then, try moving back this second float box value to 1. (default - gets multiplied by 0.00001). Nothing happens, as expected . But all arguments being the same, the result is different from the beginning of our "experiment".

Try then to change the input signal to -1.

The output signal from deltaclip~ slopes to 0. and from then on it is impossible to get deltaclip~ to output any negative signal value.

I've been experimenting with the granular patches (poly_granulation3) from the brilliant GO book and I've run into some issues now that Live 12.2 has been upgraded to use Max 9.  The patch was working fine for me previously in a M4L device, but now, when I open the .amxd file in Max 9, it gives me a 

patchcord outlet out of range: deleting patchcord.

I narrowed it down to being something to do with the grain3.gendsp file within the patches.  When I open it up, all the connections to each of the 30 instances of grain3 are deleted. and this happens every time.  I have an example patch but I'm hesitant if I should post it here as I know the patches are only available to owners of the book.  The issue can be replicated by just creating a new Max Audio Effect in Live, then copying and pasting the contents of the poly_granulation3.maxpat into the M4L device.  Freeze and save, and when you re-open the patch in Max, you'll see this bad object error and all the connections disconnected in gen.

Would love to learn what has changed and how to potentially fix this.

Trying to synchronize Max timing to external application. The [Transport] object seems the right one. However I get no input data when clock source is MTC or external. The reference of the Transport object is not very helpful, neither the help file. Help file from the Link Package looks better, at least queries for possible clock sources. When using Ableton Link, the sync works. MTC does not. Ableton Link is useless though, since it gives no position information. I tested my MTC sync signal with other applications it works fine. Would one have any hints for me? Thanks :)
