I'm having trouble with loading Max packages. I have two "Max 8" folders on my system, and I've tried placing the downloaded Max package in both locations, but I'm still unable to load subpatches. Does anyone know what might be going wrong or have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

did you not forget to show paths to this 2 folders ?

On Mac packages get installed into  ~/Documents/Max 8/Packages folder

If that downloaded package does not get recognised,

it was installed on downloads folder in Mac... is packages be into /Documents/Max 8/Packages folder automatically when it is downloaded?

few externals in a folder don't make valid package which gets recognised as such
