I'm trying to make a Max4Live patch in Ableton's patcher. The issue is that sending a 1 to the groove~ object causes the audio to playback at a rate slightly over 1. I made sure the sample rates are the same from Ableton to Max. When I use play~ and send it a message of "0,$1 $1" with $1=endpoint in ms, it also plays back slightly faster than the recorded loop.

Hello, I am working on a project using mostly v8 and dicts which requires a lot of directed movement of objects. I want to create javascript classes that represent certain gridshapes and move them with certain speed and direction according to information provided in dictionary. I want to get familiar with some examples of how you can control the movement of figures in v8 javascript api, i guess you can use some of Jitter3dUtilsInterface functions for that. For example, if i understand it right, i can represent some gridshape as follows:

In my current project, I'm implementing a system where impulses traverse a graph, with each impulse having its own set of attributes. An impulse starts at a specific vertex using a startImpulses() function, and as it moves through the graph, it updates its position according to its individual parameters. Each impulse can be thought of as a self-contained unit that moves from one point to another, following the edges of the graph. The graph itself is stored within a dictionary, where each vertex holds coordinates and connections to other vertices.

Now, I'm looking for a way to represent impulse as jitter object with three characteristics, which interpolates from one coordinate to another with some kind of ramp like [line 0 1] acting as time representation. Bang is used as framerate

Seems like I can't get phasor to sync by resetting its phase.

What am I doing wrong? Can someone please explain, as I've spent hours and just don't get it: how the right inlet of phasor is supposed to work at all? (gen help file, unlike the rest of the Max help files, are very obscure to me)

Since I installed Max 8 I cannot use the Reference system anymore. It says that Search is unavailable as Max is rebuilding the database. Restarting Max, rebooting nor leaving Max open for a very long time help.

If Max is rebuilding the database, you should wait until the rebuild has completed. Have you done that, or have you just restarted the minute you saw the error message? Last time that happened to me, I just waited and it worked fine (I needed the rebuild because I'd trashed my Preferences, etc.).

Yesterday I waited for 6 or 8 hours, I'd say that would be enough. 
I just noticed that the search function of the file browser works fine (and very fast!), it's just the Reference search which complains.

Installing Max for the 3rd time solved the problem :-)

Brilliant upgrade btw, I can't believe how much faster everything is now!

Even after multiple uninstalls I'm still experiencing this issue, and can't use the search function at all. Has anyone figured out a direct fix for this issue?

I filed a bug report and after some investigating Cycling 74 sent me a new Node for Max package which solved my problem. I recommend you do the same. Cycling's support is pretty awesome :-)

Hello, i am a newbie in max, but have some programming background and understanding of computational geometry, but found myself struggling to understand the process of creation of custom shaders for jit GPU objects. I want to use pattrmarker in one device that will be loaded in a couple of instances in Ableton. Therefore I want to give every device a unique pattrmarker id consisting of "PattrDevice[Device id]". See the screenshot below.
