I am getting over 300% CPU usage in Live when using a simple MIDI processing patch inside a 32 voice poly~.

What's puzzling is that the device runs perfectly when in preview mode but causes CPU overload in the normal device mode inside Live.

I would assume both preview mode and the device mode will consume a similar amount of resources.

Also please note that I have multicore settings disabled for the poly~ object so this factor should have no effect whatsoever.

I process no audio with the patch, just midi.

I'm looking to convert between HSL and RGB, 3 floats in the range 0.,1. This is going to be inside a patcher which I am going to have multiple copies of using [poly~], so I'd like to keep it as tight as possible.

I was a bit surprised that I couldn't find a built-in object to do this, but it seems like I have a few options:

1. Implement using [expr] and consume via [bpatcher]. Optionally use a [swatch] to do HSL to RGB and get the saturation from RGB.

2. Implement in Javascript in a [js] object

3. Convert to a 1x1x3 matrix and use [jit.rgb2hsl] / [jit.hsl2rgb]

#1 seems easiest, but I have a feeling #3 is more efficient. #2 just seems like a bad idea, if there are going to be a few dozen copies of it. (I'm still on Max 5 and the old JS for now.)

I've been struggling trying to get my js code to interface correctly with my RNBO web export patch. My goal is to be able to record a sound into a buffer~ or data object (whichever is the right tool for the job) and then have js call the correct functions to access that DataBuffer, convert and download it into a WAV file.

Using the web interface (on Chrome) from my RNBO Web Export patches, I've successfully been able to use record~ to write audio into both objects (data and buffer~), and then play those back in via the web interface (using peek~ for the data object and a bang to a groove~ object associated with the buffer~). But I'm running into issues I believe with calling the right functions in JS in order to parse the data in the data or buffer~ objects and ultimately download it. Does anyone have any experience making this work?

Hello Max community! This is the first time I'm having such issues in Max. 

I use this patch to control the LEDs of a Launch Control XL MK2 but Max crashes when I'm changing the color of all 16 pads. Launch Control also doesn't always receive all the data, hence the LEDs aren't always controlled properly. 

I suppose the issue perhaps is that I'm sending too much information instantaneously? Any ideas how to fix it or at least figure out exactly what's causing this? Thanks in advance.

I am working on a patch to control a string of RGB LEDs via music input. Currently I have been able to use a filter bank to generate R G B values (either on a scale of 0 to 255 or 0 to 1.0) from a color look-up table. I am having trouble figuring out how to convert these values to hex format for output to the LEDs though. I have found several javascript examples, but haven't been able to get them to work within a Max patch, anybody know how to do this?

 I'm a beginner, but for a university exam I'd like to create a patch that can capture a live scream from a person and convert it into data that can be sent to TouchDesigner. Obviously, I'd like the sound to be cleaned up so that only the scream is captured and not other sounds like voices or footsteps. I've been going crazy for days because I've watched tutorial after tutorial, but they all use audio and not an ezadc (microphone). So far, I've only managed to connect the ezadc with meter and number, but I don't know how to proceed. My instructor recommended zmap, but I have no idea how to implement a patch like this.
