Got this great patch from the managing multiples article and just wondering is anyone able to say why there are black dots on the bottom of these grid shapes and have any ideas how to remove them, please? breaks the experience a bit with those on... I am referring to the sphere shapes - they have the block dots on the bottom when rotated.

However, I'm running into an issue when trying to use multiple webcams of the same model. I have three identical USB cameras, but on my Mac, the dropdown menu in the patch can’t distinguish between them — it only recognizes one. As you can see in the screenshot it shows the two webcams, but both with the same name. It can't differentiate. When using jit.grab

When using jit.grab, Max is able to detect three of the cameras separately (they appear with different @inuqueid s), so the Mac does distinguish them.

Any workaround, patch modification, or pointer would be hugely appreciated!

Is there any way how can I implement a double click to reset a curve in a function object? 

The object is obviously aware of where the mouse is hovering in the function but since the curve object doesn't output these values I struggle to figure out how to "hack" the function object to force it to reset a selected curve on double click. 

The function object needs some UX love and such controls should be implemented by default IMO but it is what it is so here I am asking.

If this is not possible, does anyone know about a better function object (an external etc.)?

I've made an editor for my integra in pure data and the collection of waveforms is about 1000 entries in the text edit define ( which is pure data equivalent of coll ) 

Copy -pasting the text file obviously does not enter the index numbers in Coll .

Is there  some kind of batch procedure that does this automatically ?

been looking for a way to not only stop the note on an external MIDI instrument (currently using midiflush), but stop suddenly the slow/long release of all notes playing.  

Searched the forum and the wider net and can only find how to send note off messages, but the slow release on the ADSR on the Logic Synth keeps playing till complete.

I would like to send a message to not only turn all notes off, but suddenly ramp down sny of their long release times. 

I've attached an example patch - the left slider controls pitch/note, the float sets velocity, and the right slider is volume.

Hi, do some of you know how the processes within rnbo are cpu manageble. Like within max there is this mute~ object which is helpful. It's not included in rnbo. Are there other tools to exclude processes (subpatchers?) from the running loop? Or how is this done in general?

I'm trying an idea to use the clip envelopes as a way to store presets to clips. I think that the clip automation is the way that Ableton intends for clips to start with distinct parameters, but editing them can be cumbersome.

There seem to be no LOM calls for editing clip envelopes the way that there are for clip notes.

What's the reasoning behind that? Was it that recording is the intended method to automate things?

I haven't been looking into it.  I went with having a single rack of parameters that are always mapped to the main controls on my setup and didn't use the clip envelopes for those.

Same here. Looking for functions to get/set/observe envelope data from clip. 
It would just be a list with x/y values, right?

I never got info on this from Cycling or Ableton.

 If you're looking for automation editing stuff, I'm attaching a device that was an attempt at creating a sort of a "clip automation setter" by flashing record.  I ditched the approach because it seemed way too clunky. The device still has a number of kinks to work out, (use at your own risk!) but maybe you can pull something useful from it.
