So I've built a few Max standalone audio processing devices -- tick.

What if I want to route say the audio output of standalone "A" to standalone "B", in a modular fashion as is typically done with hardware pedals? Rather than hardwiring "A" and "B" in a separate Max standalone.

Unfortunately when I go to the Audio Status in Max where I can select the Input and Output Devices for audio, it only lists the hardware audio devices, not the internal ones like (read wish list) "Standalone A Audio Output".

Sure I could use something like SoundFlower to have it act as the internal intermediary, but is this the best way?

It would be nice if in Max during the development stage I could at the audio output end, like the ezdac~ object, allow it to create those "additional" internal audio routing lines, so the other standalone Max devices could use them as inputs. So when the Audio Status is brought up those internal routings are listed.

Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree and have misunderstood the design philosophy of Max.

I have a few patches that I would like to have appear in a single main window, and I would also like to be able to mix some of them together or alternate their appearance in said main window. I would also like to be able to record both the image and the audio of said main window. Here is a small example of what I am doing...

I have created a midi generator as a max4live object. I can currently get one note value out at a time. I am trying to use the live.grid object to output multiple notes at one time. I am trying to use poly~ to do this but I am not sure it is the right tool.

Hi, I'm testing the efficiency of some numeric generation and I gave a try to gen (without ~): I've tried to generate a great amount of random numbers, but I've found out that It is not possible to access values produced by each loop iteration. The only result I get is the value produced at the end of the overall code compilation. Is that correct, this is how loops work in gen?

I've just ripped only the 'delete muted notes' parts of Dennis DeSantis' 'Selection Filter 2' device with the aim of it being triggered by keyboard shortcut in Live. It works but the very first time a project is loaded containing the device (or the device is loaded) the keyboard shortcut has to be pressed two (or more) times before it works, after that it works every time.

I've attached the device, could somebody have a look at it please and advise or even fix it and post it here for me please? (Once it's fixed I'll uploaded it to

I'm a long-time modular synth player and I've been getting more in to ~gen.  I'd really love build myself a Eurorack module where I can create various devices using RNBO.  I've used Arduinos and things like that in the past, so I'm not a complete beginner, but I'm still very much a newbie to integrating hardware and software.  

What would be the best platform to be able to build a standalone Eurorack module that I can actually put in my rack and update it (probably via USB) with new patches?  I'll want to be able to send and receive multiple CV signals and also have multiple knobs.  Would I be able to use something like a Raspberry Pi for this?  

If anyone has any links or anything that can point me in this direction, I'd be really grateful!

I wrote an RNBO plugin which essentially works in Logic Pro and in MainStage

and when in the Editor dropdown Controls is selected

All the numeric UI elements from the presets have sliders and the two windows have the same width.

In MainStage, the initial window looks the same as in Logic Pro

but when Control is selected in the Editor dropdown, the window gets narrower and there are no slider controls.

I'm trying to make a simple device, that has one button, that when pressed will delete all inactive devices on the selected track. The thing is, I know next to nothing about js and m4l for that matter. I do know a bit of programming generally speaking, and so I've tried with chatgpt to quickly come up with the js script.

According to the latest debugging iteration, chatgpt says:

 object provides access to properties and some methods but does not directly support device deletion. This limitation is inherent in the API and not something the script itself can override."

I actually have m4l device, "session cleaner" that does that for the entire project. So i'm sure its possible somehow
