I'm making a midi looper for CC. I've decided that using a buffer and reading and writing with a phasor would be the best option. However, its overkill to use sample rate for this. I may be making this up, but doesn't midi process at 1/96 of a quarter note? What rate, or ratio to bpm would be ideal for setting the phasor to read out of the buffers so it's smooth enough for CC but also not requiring huge buffers (i want to go 32 bars max).

I am trying to send OSC Messages form a standalone. Everything is working fine inside Max.

The standalone asks the first time opening for the rights to use the local network, which I allowed. Then everything works as expected till the next reboot.

Then I am not able to send OSC messages anymore. I found out, if I switch off and switch on again the Local Network property for my standalone in the privacy preferences, OSC will work again.

My standalone is located in my user folder.

Is there something I could set at the standalone object?

My system is: MacBook M3, Sequoia 15.2, Max 8.6.5

I have a box I build with 5 buttons and 2 potentiometers.

another 4 button 1 for each specific audio files and another 2 potentiometer to change the pitch of 2 of the 4 files. 

My system has 4 chapter the each chapter has is audio file that should play 1 time. each chapter has 4 different unique files that user can trigger them with the corresponding  buttons and two of the 4 the user can change their pitch using pots.

when user enter room he press the main button that start the audio file of  first chapter and loading the 4 audio files of that chapter. 

when the first chapter is finished it will automaticlly start the next audio file of chapter two and will load the 4 audio files of chapter two. same goes to chapter 3 and 4. 

the reset button will start the whole sequence from the beginning.

if there was not press on none of the user buttons the system automaticly will reset to first chapter on next main button press. 

I thought about using 1 sfplay object to load and play the main audio files of each chapters and another 2 sfplay for 2 of the 4 audio files of each chapter and another 2 groove objects for 2 of the 4 audio files of each chapter (the ones that can be effected with pots on pitch) 

Main AudioA start on BTNMAIN press, when finished Main AudioB start, when finished Main AudioC start, when finished - Main Audio D start, when finished - wait for next BTNMAIN press to start from beginning,

when Main AudioA is playing the usrfileA1, usrfileA2, usrfileA3, usrfileA4, are availible to play with. 

 usrfileA1, usrfileA2 are 1 shot trigger (play 1 time from start to end when press)

and pot 1 and pot 2 will effect the pitch of those files.

That work fine with the linear mode but I forgot to say that it is with the curve mode that I would wish to do that.

I have a new trouble to  send change of parameters from a "master" object "function" (UI) to several "slaves" objects "function".
In mode curve.
My new trouble is to send sustain point.
Add a sustain point in the master function is not transmitted to the slaves function. However, if I add sustain point in slaves function, when I remove the sustain point or when I change position of any sustain points in the master function, sustain points in the slaves function disappear.

How to transmit the sustain points from a master function to several slaves functions ?

hi, i haven't really checked this through properly. it's a bit rushed, but it might be a solution:


why don't you just use pattr ?
(this way, all parameters, including sustain point, range & domain are sent with only one cable...)
